B · Replicated, size uncertain
In survey data, happiness and meaningfulness correlated but diverged in patterned ways. Meaning was linked more to giving to others, to struggle, and to reflection on the past and future; happiness was linked more to receiving, to feeling healthy, and to living in the present. The study is correlational, so it cannot say which produces which.
